The primary scientific objectives of the new constellation of geomagnetic survey satellites are:
(1) making significant contribution to mapping the core dynamo field and lithospheric magnetic fields with a finer resolution and higher accuracy;
(2) constructing the finer three-dimensional profile of the Earth's mantle conductivity;
(3) enabling the three-dimensional construction of upper ionospheric and lower magnetospheric characteristics via in situ measurements of three-dimensional magnetic fields and other relevant physical parameters;
(4) understanding the primary state of Sun-Earth interaction and space weather conditions;
(5) developing the highly accurate model of the Earth's magnetic field for scientists and applications;
(6) discovering new natural phenomena in the Earth's magnetic system;
(7) validating or verifying new geomagnetic theories.
